I have two other (older) routers in our business and they transmit much farther than this one. I bought this one to use in our 900 square foot adobe house. It may be that the adobe interferes, but our business is adobe, too, and the signal strength there is much better.
I bought this because my research showed it would work with Century Link DSL. They don't want to tell you that, they want you to buy THEIR router, which is way overpriced and doesn't get very good reviews, either.
I'd recommend this for the price, if you were using it in an apartment or very small house NOT build with adobe walls.
